Nashira

American wild ale fermented in oak with peaches

Nashira [na-sheer-uh] (n)—a giant star in the constellation of Capricornus. The name is derived from the Arabic sa’d nashirah, “the lucky one” or “the bearer of good news”.

Nashira is fermented in oak barrels with a complex mixed culture of wild yeast and lactic acid producing bacteria. After 10 months, native Maine peaches from Sidereal Farm in Vassalboro were added directly to the barrel. Hazy and deep orange in color, this beer is wildly complex with oak and brettanomyces notes of pineapple and black pepper playing against tart peaches and graham cracker pie crust. With a pleasing balance between sweet and sour, Nashira begs you to take another sip.
