Harkness
Spontaneously Fermented Ale
Harkness – Sank January 16, 1992. A 70’ Tug boat that foundered on a cold and windy winter night near Matinicus Island, Maine. All three crewmen survived.
Harkness is the first beer from our coolship program . This spontaneously fermented ale started its life two years ago, cooling overnight on a foggy, chilly evening. We call it Harkness. We think you’ll like it. Slightly hazy with a deep golden, orange color and notes of citrus and tropical fruit. Gently sour with characteristics of wood, vanilla, and spice.
